La Tropical is one of my top recommendations, partly because you can check out so many musical styles: salsa, timba, rumba, danzón, trova, pop, and even techno. I love this place because it is a place where you can experience local tradition and the Cuban dance style called casino. Definitely check out the schedule before you go, but you can always just drop by on a Sunday, when they hold a dance competition for elderly couples. It’s so much fun to watch them dance!
