This is a great spot for birding, and a great way to get an introduction to Mono Lake and the amazing water story that defines this place. Plus, there's a park with grass and picnic tables!

At least 760,000 years old - among the oldest lakes in North America. Its a chloride-carbonate-sulfate "triple water" lake. It is alkaline, with a pH of 10, & almost three times as salty as the ocean.
