Terrific hike if you have the whole day. 10 miles with a bit of climbing on the way out. At the top, veer left to Pika Lake. Its a beauty. If you are athletic, stay on the Duck Pass trail and head to the JMT and Purple Lake. If you are extremely fit, continue on to Ram Lake. Bring water filter to alleviate the weight of schlepping your water. Plenty of it all along the hike. If you have time it is great for backpacking. Backcountry permit required in advance.

A hard, 10 mile, out and back trail, usually takes 5-6 hours to complete. Gorgeous views the whole time, duck lake at the top. Bring lots of water and snacks and a jacket as things cool off while you climb.
