(30 minutes away) Frank Rendon Park is a place on the beach that has showers, and things for kids to play on. It also has good parking.

Beach park with showers, bathrooms, picnic tables (& next to The Shores Resort and Spa) And typically plenty of parking even during busy event seasons.
