The foundation is a favorite destination for the locals, as it combines a stroll in a well maintained and paved park with a view of the sea. Plenty of activities and events are organized there and the view from the main building is breathtaking.

Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre is one of the most modern urban facilities in Athens characterized as the jewel of the city. There are numerous activities both for adults and children such as cycling, kayaking, sports like football and seasonal activities for children. One can also enjoy movie nights or live concerts out on the lawn. Additionally there are performances in the National Opera of Greece which has found its new home in the premises. Last but not least the SNFCC accommodates the National Library of Greece.
