Completely off the beaten path but easily the BEST BBQ in the whole city if not the state of California. There is always a line but you can call ahead for take out. Weekends are the busiest time, but it's well worth the wait if you like BBQ.

Missouri-style BBQ. Very popular to the point of touristy, but good product.

This is my favorite BBQ place in the world, and it is right here in San Diego. I have watched this place grow from a small hole in the wall in Uptown with a line that snaked down the block. Now it has multiple locations including the airport and Petco Park.
