You'll spend the remainder of the workshop developing and blending your own fragrance, with tips and pointers along the way. After this, you'll turn your fragrance into an oil-based roll-on personal fragrance. You’ll take home your very own scent creation compounded and mixed into a 10mL roll-on bottle of perfume. POP QUIZ: Are you here to absorb authentic Portland culture? BONUS CREDIT: Are you trying to live like a local while you are? Because Portland is a MILLENNIAL PLAYGROUND best understood when explored like someone from here. How do we do that? Here are the locals' favorite pastimes: picking up cannabis from the neighborhood dispensary, grabbing drinks at a cozy cafe, eating plant-based food done right, and sipping crafts at an eclectic bar! So for starters, we'll sniff around a CANNABIS DISPENSARY to kick things off on a high note. Second, we'll sip tea inside a LIVING ROOM CAFE that's been converted from a Pixar-esque residence. Third, we'll grab meals from a VEGAN EATERY featuring meat and cheese alternatives that are as tasty as they are innovative. And lastly, we'll drink beers at a SEVEN STORY BAR that used to be a hidden back room of a live theater. To explore the city like a true Portlander, I’ll be your guide to show you where you’d go and how you’d do it. Along the way, I'll enlighten you to the community's culture and provide custom recommendations on how to live like the locals! Multnomah Zen, a four waterfall scenic hiking experience
Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions in every world culture. Meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend. In this half-day experience, we will explore wonders with some short hikes (totaling less than 2.5 miles/4 km) and visits to overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of our experience. We will meet at our shop in inner SE Portland, where we'll ride in our comfortable Sprinter and Transit vans to the nearby gorge. Depending on weather conditions, we could visit a few small hidden waterfalls or spectacular plunge-style falls whose columnar basalt has us learning words for "amazing" in other languages. We'll also tell you stories, geology, botany and oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and wild spirits and about the oldest North American civilization, forever altered by “manifest destiny." Please note we book directly as well as through AirBNB, and your group may be up to 10.

Discover Portland By Bike Tour
The essential introduction to Portland. We’ll hop on well-traveled bike lanes stopping to admire the views of downtown, the river and the city’s many bridges. Then we ride along the waterfront past the brick and cast iron fronted buildings of Old Town built in the 19th and early 20th century. Next our tour will head into Chinatown where the streets once teemed with immigrants from all over the world. From there we’ll roll through the Pearl District where turn-of-the-century warehouses have been turned into art galleries, shops, restaurants and condos. We’ll pass Henry Weinhard’s 140 year old brewery before heading downtown. The tour cruises past a number of our favorite food carts before entering the South Park Blocks – separated from the North blocks by a century of legal battles. We’ll pedal through Oregon’s largest university then turn downhill to the waterfront and the Willamette River, lifeblood of the city and state. Time permitting, we'll ride into some east side neighborhoods with food carts, gorgeous houses, rose gardens and vibrant shopping districts before crossing the river again. Ebike upgrade, only $20! PLease note in your booking and we'll get you set up. *In order to offer livable wages to our guides, if only 1 person books, a supplement of $20 will be charged upon arrival.
Portland's Underground Donut Tour
On this tour, you'll join me as we explore the city and food culture through the medium of donuts. You'll learn history of Portland, each donut location, how they fit into the larger food scene, as well as try some amazing donuts. We start near the PSU campus where we begin at Sesame Donuts and try some of their amazing sesame donuts as well as many others. We then take a nice walk through central Portland over to Fills Donuts to sample some of their daily specials. Their menu changes often. From there, it's off to NOLA Doughnuts where we'll sample beignets and some of the best chocolate donuts you've ever had. We'll finish the tour at Voodoo Doughnuts, where you can even skip the line (sometimes a 30-60 minute ordeal). We hope you can join us! Other things to note Currently, many of these shops do not have gluten free or vegan options, so options are very limited.
Make Fresh Pasta Like a True Italian
Join Chef Jimmy at a charming local brewery for a cooking lesson that combines culinary education with plenty of fun and excitement. In this hands-on class, you’ll get to craft your very own fresh, homemade pasta completely from scratch. Chef Jimmy will teach everyone authentic techniques that’ll help you combine a few simple ingredients for the perfect pasta dough. Then, learn how to roll and shape the dough into your favorite noodle shapes! You’ll learn how to make classic sauces like herby pesto, hearty Carbonara, and cacio e pepe. Then, grab a craft beer and enjoy a wholesome, chef-approved meal with the group to wrap up an all-around awesome experience.
Gorge waterfall hike and bike adventure
Our experience provides the best of its category -- best bicycles, guides, vehicles! We transport our guests and bikes in comfortable vans, and our guides ride with very small groups. We'll visit waterfalls you will not see on other tours. You'll immerse yourself in the temperate rainforest! We tell the stories that need to re-awaken. Beyond the 180 years of pioneers and loggers, before the century-old highway, this was the land of people with a rich mythology. We remember the long history this place holds, and tell these stories as best we can. After we fit you for bikes at our shop in SE Portland, we'll drive out toward adventure. The bike ride and hike both take place in the Columbia River Gorge, the waterfall-laden western end of an 80-mile (130-km) canyon. At a breathtaking vista overlooking the Gorge, we'll take photos, and hear the story of who was here before us. Over the course of the tour, we'll ride 4-6 miles (7-10 km), gentle downhill and some uphill (depending on your group) on a historic highway frequented by cyclists, see four waterfalls including Multnomah Falls, hike about 1.0-2 miles (2-4km) -- all within a 30-40 min drive of the city. The tour is 4-5 hours; you'll remember it for years to come! Please note we book directly as well as through AirBNB, and your overall tour group may be up to 10.

Beginner's glass blowing lessons in North Portland
Ever been interested in trying your hand at blowing glass? Join me in my private borosilicate glass studio for one-on-one instruction on how to make your first piece of glass art! I’m a professional borosilicate glass blower with over 10 years of experience and am offering private classes in my home studio in North Portland. Students will be taught basic glass blowing safety, skills, and will have the opportunity to create 2-3 pieces of glass art in a two-hour beginner’s lesson. Depending on experience, participants will have the chance to create a variety of items including marbles (typical for beginners), small sculptures, or a small glass ornament. If you make a fun marble I'm happy to turn it into a wine bottle stopper for you! Students get to keep any glass they create, and gain knowledge and hands-on experience in a very unique field. *Glass made during lesson will require kilning for durability, which takes a minimum of 4 hours. Most students choose to pick up the glass they made the next day (or at their earliest convenience). Interested in a class for two people? I'm happy to accommodate an extra person but only have one torch set up at a time, so both individuals will take turns blowing glass. In order to make sure you both get adequate time on the torch, I recommend extending class time to about 3 hours. Feel free to message me with any questions.
