A great place to enjoy art with donations opptional for the general admission. Tickets are required for exhibitions and special event shows.
A donations-based gallery, many people are amazed at the selection of things to see. The building itself is beautiful and the art collection is extensive. You can find incredible art from every continent and time period - one day won't be enough! They also have interactive activities set up at…
A superb collection of works from ancient to contemporary times, with excellent exhibitions. Catch a docent led tour or use the app to make your own way through the galleries.
Some of the best art collections I have seen in the Midwest. From Ancient Chinese to Ancient Greek.

“The Walker has a great modern collection plus changing exhibitions by local and internationally known artists, as well as the Out There series of live dance and music performances, films, an outdoor sculpture garden with great Minneapolis skyline views, and Esker Grove restaurant for a cocktail or bite to eat. Super gift shop and don't miss artist-designed mini-golf in the summer. ”

“Park behind the Guthrie (bring quarters or a Credit Card), go into the building and walk out on the walkway that hangs out over the road; see the river from above. Go to the next floor and look out at the city and see the US Stadium from above: FREE!!!”

“In and around a burned-down pagoda on the northeast corner of our lake (closest to Uptown proper) is a public gathering space with food trucks, a sailing school, and rentals of canoe, kayak, and paddle boards. Expect a crowd on a nice day: summer is short! There are also beaches on the North end (with an old playground adjacent) and South end (bigger, more popular), a volleyball court on the southwest side, and a newer children’s playground on the east side (about 3 blocks from the food truck/boat rental area).”

“History of the flour industry told through interactive exhibits in the rebuilt ruins of an old mill. Did you know that Minneapolis was once the biggest flour producer in the world?”
