18 miles from the cottage Newross is famous for the Dunbrody famine ship museum and coffee shop. Where JFK family originally came from you can visit his homestead and museum just outside the town. Enjoy a river boat cruise on the Barrow while enjoying lunch. Lots of shops pubs and places to eat.

Home to the dunbrody famine ship, new ross is a must visit. Take a tour of the ship, where real life actors bring the ship back in time and recreate our ancestors crossing. Visit the visitor centre, where excellent food awaits you, seated upstairs in a glass box, with views of the river, it's one not to be missed. Dont forget to visit JFK park and homestead close by.
