The Frontier Times Museum is a museum dedicated to the American West. It’s one of the oldest museums in Bandera and was opened in 1933 by author and historian John Hunter.

Walk through the museum’s doors and be transported back in time when museums served as cabinet of curiosities. Explore antique display cases that contain over 11,000 treasures from pioneer relics to nature's oddities such as a two-faced goat and a shrunken head. The museum also features the folks who have made Bandera the official Cowboy Capital of the World. Their Texas Heroes Hall of Honor pays tribute to some of Texas' greatest cowboys, cowgirls and rodeo champions. The museum’s art gallery showcases the cowboy artists of the Western Artists Roundup with artwork reflecting our western heritage. One of Texas' oldest history museum, the Frontier Times Museum has been preserving frontier history for over 85 years, The museum is located at 510 13th Street, Bandera, Texas.
