June mountain is great for families, children under 12 ski/ride free. Wonderful family mountain, and secret spot for powder days with no crowds.

Smaller ski resort located 20 mins north of Mammoth. A smaller, more local mountain geared towards families now. So much fun and a great vibe, but much smaller compared to Mammoth.

We love June Mtn! It's absolutely gorgeous. About a 20 minute drive North of Mammoth and kids under 12 can ski free! It's a more beginner/ intermediate mountain and less expensive and less crowded than Mammoth.

June Lake is stunning and worth at least a half-day trip (unless you're skiing there, then a full day!) The main lodge at the ski resort there offers one of the most beautiful views you can get of the Eastern Sierras. June Lake is a locals getaway, and is a favorite destination for skiers who want to avoid the crowds at Mammoth. Skiing June is a blast and a bit of a local secret, so don't spread the word too much about the slopes there :)
