Completely unique and gorgeous scenery. Open during Spring-Fall based on weather conditions.
This is an amazing area of Mammoth Lakes, the national monument is a short and easy hike from the Ranger Station and you can also hike to the beautiful Rainbow Falls and take a dip in it's pools in the summer to cool off. It makes for an incredible day spent in Mammoth.
We're recommend driving or taking the bus down to Devils Postpile. There are multiple hikes throughout this beautiful valley. There is a trail that runs from unique granite formations of Devils Postpile, to Rainbow Falls.
Drive up to Mineret summit and down to Red's Meadow. This is a very interesting geologic feature that tells the story of the formation of the area millions of years ago. Don't miss rainbow Falls while your there. It's a short walk down the trail

“Epic walk through nature. You can see Devil's Postpile within half mile and Rainbow Falls in a 5 mile round trip walk. This is a trail, no amenities, except for beautiful views. We recommend getting there before the park opens at 7am, otherwise you have to take a bus in.”
