Hopsewee Plantation is location on the south Santee River and has a delightful restaurant and store. There is a fee to tour the original plantation home, but walking around the property is free of charge. I'd recommend having lunch at the restaurant - delicious local fare!

This plantation, located in neighboring Georgetown has amazing grounds. A morning or afternoon spent here will transport you back to 1740 when it was first built. Georgetown offers great dining and shopping so a nearly full day trip can be made assembled for rainy day alternatives or a beak from beach and golf. We've visit with friends in the morning, had lunch and then spent the afternoon at the beach.
