Canyon Lake dam has a walkway on the dam and it's great for sunset viewing. Also, on the other side of the park there is an entry for cliffside beach, it's a rugged but quick walk so be prepared for the terrain. Great place to sit and admire the view Canyon Lake has to offer. Best time to go is during sundown. Be mindful that this park closes after sunsets or you'll get ticketed.

Canyon Lake is a great place to spend a day and bring a picnic. I recommend renting a boat for the day.

The parks around Canyon Lake are filled with an abundance of wild animals some of which include deer, both gray and red foxes, roadrunners, and plenty of different migratory birds species.

Besides the incredible views of the calm, crystal-clear waters, this lake is also a hot spot for water recreation. People who like playing in and near the water are sure to enjoy their visit here.
