Dublin Castle has a library called the Chester Beatty library which is lovely (but it has been a few years since I have been there)

Dublin Castle is steeped in history and as one of the OPW buildings is included on the Heritage Card if you buy one. Alternatively, it is just €6 entry, €2 for students with student card. This and Kilmainham Gaol are free entry on the first Wednesday of every month.
