There are some nice, easy hiking trails and bird watching in this park.

LCRA park 1 hour away. 8 miles of hiking along Lake Buchanan. Take a Vanishing River Boat Cruise, or my favorite is the Observatory! Check dates for availability. Very knowledgable guide can show you all the constellations with his laser beam. Take a turn observing the stars with their high-powered telescope. Worth the Trip! Don't forget to look for bald eagles!

Canyon of the Eagles has a pretty cool observatory, but I think you need to make reservations now, due to COVID.

It's a pretty drive, you can have a meal with a view of Lake Buchanan. They have an observatory including modern telescopes with computer enhanced imaging and astronomical instruments and on-site astronomer. About an hour drive from here.
