All outdoors at the Fore Points Marina, they generally have one or two awesome food trucks there to pair with your drinks. Delightful at sunset. (You have to walk a bit as it's on the bike/walk path. The nearest parking is around Thames Street, but you could also walk down from Munjoy Hill.)

Take the ferry to laid-back Peaks Island and rent bicycles from Brad's Bikes for a delightful half day or so. You can cycle all around the island, check out the old WWII battery, and choose from several lovely restaurants near the ferry pier. This is one of our favorite local summer activities with guests.
The ferry is run by Casco Bay Lines, and runs hourly all day in both directions. To get to Peaks, simply head down to the Maine State Ferry Terminal and buy a ticket at least 30 minutes or so before departure. No need to book ahead (it isn't even possible). No ticket needed for return trip.
*Note: Parking can be tricky in summer, so leave extra time.

Walking the entire loop is only about 1.5 miles.
If you'd like to try a guided tour before using our kayaks, or just want to see more of Casco Bay on a kayak or SUP, Portland Paddle is the place. As a bonus, it's located on the Eastern Prom trail, so you will be well-positioned to enjoy Old Port before or after your paddle.

A beautiful 45-minute walk. No nearby parking, but the hack is that if you book a reservation at the restaurant at the Black Point Inn, you may leave your car while you do the walk. Combine it with a visit to the area's fantastic, wide-open beaches.

Known to locals as "the Eastern Prom," this is a lovely, paved, waterfront trail for walking or cycling (bike rentals available at The Portland Encyclopedia). The Eastern Prom food trucks are nearby off Cutter Street, and you'll pass by the Marina Bar (do stop by!). There's a great little beach along the way, as well. Located right by Old Port, so combinable with just about any Portland adventure.
