Welcome to the Surf City Ocean Pier!
Topsail Island's first ocean pier, the Surf City Pier, was originally built in 1948. It has been owned and operated by the Lore family since 1973. Though it has weathered many storms (some better than others), Hurricane Fran destroyed it in 1996. It was totally rebuilt and reopened in August of 1997, looking much like it does today including a few additions. The Surf City Pier comes complete with large assortment of bait, fully stocked tackle shop, an eclectic collection of souvenirs fresh ground chuck burger's from the grill, and an outside covered dining area.

The Pier is 937 Feet long with a 40 foot octagon at the end
Two large fish cleaning stations with fresh running water.
Plenty of lighting for all night fishing.
A Large well lit parking area.
Large assortment of bait.
Fully stocked tackle shop.

The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center conserves and protects all species of marine turtle on land and in the water. We accomplish this through monitoring and protecting nesting sea turtles, nests, and hatchlings; rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing sick and injured sea turtles; informing and educating the public regarding the plight of all sea turtles and the threat of their extinction; and providing an experiential learning site for students of biology, wildlife conservation, and/or veterinary medicine from around the world.

Great place to watch sunset with family! This park has several wooden walkways that go out over the water, from which you could go fishing. A great little playground with scenic views of the bay and the Surf City Bridge. The play equipment is quite interesting, with a variety of climbing areas (sailing ship themed), spinners, spring dolphins, and so on. There are clean, accessible bathrooms close by, picnic tables & a pavilion, plenty of free parking, and even a cute little free library box!

A great little playground with scenic views of the bay and the Surf City Bridge. There are clean, accessible bathrooms close by, picnic tables & a pavilion, plenty of free parking, and even a cute little free library box!

This shop is so cute. It has a wide variety of local flavor inside. Lots of cute trinkets and souvenirs, but, also some nicer costume jewelry if that is what you are going for. The fudge is not to be missed. They make all of it in house and you can sample the flavors before you buy.

Rumored to be the best burgers on the island, this may be one of the best hidden gems to grab a bite at. They make the most amazing hamburger that are made with fresh ground beef. The fries are always overflowing the plate and they are super delicious! The breakfast here is definitely worth waking up early for. They make great pancakes and the eggs are cooked perfect!

Summer program consists of a variety of shorter (1 day or 3 day) programs and are designed to be fun and encourage children to explore the outdoors. They strive to ignite children's natural curiosity about the world around them while providing them with the knowledge and tools to preserve, protect, and enjoy our environment! They also offer a FREE Community Class every Tuesday at 1:00pm.
