Sightseeing
Take a walk around the Twin Lakes at Tamarack Lodge, watch the sunset or fish, or walk to the Twin Lakes Campground to see the Twin Lakes Falls. You can also walk or bike up on the Lakes Basin Path to the Twin Lakes Vista Point.

This is an amazing area of Mammoth Lakes, the national monument is a short and easy hike from the Ranger Station and you can also hike to the beautiful Rainbow Falls and take a dip in it's pools in the summer to cool off. It makes for an incredible day spent in Mammoth.

Devils Postpile Access RoadThis is an amazing area of Mammoth Lakes, the national monument is a short and easy hike from the Ranger Station and you can also hike to the beautiful Rainbow Falls and take a dip in it's pools in the summer to cool off. It makes for an incredible day spent in Mammoth.
In the winter, rent cross-country skis or snowshoes and hit the trails to see the lakes in the winter. Make sure you stay off the groomed trails if you are snowshoeing.

This is a cute leisurely hike to see the volcanic craters. You must be prepared to drive on an unpaved road to get to the trailhead.

This is a nice hike that ends at a lake and has some great views along the way. When Lake Mary Rd is closed in the winter, you can still hike this trail if you can do the short off-road drive to the trailhead.

This is a great little stroll through the forest to see the ruins of a gold mine operated in the 1920s and 1930s. You can also connect this trail to the trail up to Heart Lake. This is about 15 mins south of Mammoth Lakes, off of the 395 and there is a resort, a restaurant with delicious food and a beautiful lake with dramatic views of the sheer rock cliffs. The trail takes you all around the lake and it's an easy 2.5 mile stroll for the whole loop. It gets windy in the afternoon so make sure that you have layers.
