Many people ask, “do I need to rent a car?” The answer is yes. An Uber from RSW will cost around $50 or more. There are no Ubers on island, only Taxi service. It generally costs $15 for a taxi ride one way anywhere on the island, or $30 round trip. And it costs $65 for a ride back to RSW. Sanibel is just too big of an island to only get around by bicycle. I am not saying it can’t be done, but it can be very inconvenient to so so, especially in the summertime.
