a semi-classy restaurant right on the beautiful river. I LOVE Tidewater. The food is great but the atmosphere is even better. If the weather is nice, do your self a favor and request outdoor seating as the sun sets over the river (you’ll thank me later).

a 36-foot tower in downtown Havre de Grace that was built in 1827. It is the second oldest tower lighthouse still standing on the Chesapeake Bay. The lighthouse is constructed of Port Deposit granite from across the River. Taking a stroll on the boardwalk promenade beside the lighthouse is a great way to relax in any season of the year. With a breeze and view of the Susquehanna River where it meets the Chesapeake Bay, it is a little slice of heaven on Earth.

a public recreation area located on the banks of the lower Susquehanna River north of the city of Havre de Grace, Maryland. The state park's main area is on the west bank of the river; the park also manages land on the river islands and east bank. The park offers fishing, boating, camping, and trails for hiking and equestrian use.

MARC Train, a true blessing

There are two train stations minutes from HdG. The closest is Perryville Train Station, about 6 minutes away, and Aberdeen Train Station, about 10 minutes away. Beware! There is a $6 toll to pass over the Hatem Bridge to get to the Perryville Train Station, unless you have a yearly Hatem Bridge Pass through EzPass MD. There is no toll to the train station in Aberdeen. We love to hop on a MARC train and head to D.C. for the day! D.C. is less than 1.5 hrs by train and the ride is beautiful and peaceful. Check out https://www.mta.maryland.gov/schedule/marc-penn for schedules.
