Located toward the center of the island, Manatee Public Beach in Holmes Beach is known for being one of the most popular beaches on the island for families with children. There are three access points to the beach which makes it easy to get to and enjoy.
One of the best things about the Manatee Public Beach is all of the amenities that are included nearby. Of course, you’ll find the white sandy beach and the beautiful blue clear waters. Here, you’ll also find benches, bike racks, grills, and picnic tables. This makes it the perfect spot to spend the entire day and even bring some lunch along with you. If you don’t want to bring a picnic, that’s fine too, because there’s also a concession stand that can provide a snack or a cool drink. Anna Maria Island Beach Café is also one of the area’s most popular restaurants, and it is located right on the beach for hungry families and travelers. Concessions and facilities here are among the best that you will find on the island. Other restaurants such as Skinny’s Place with its delectable burgers and hot dogs are within walking distance.
If the beach gets tiring you can also check out some of the volleyball courts or the playgrounds here as well. There are changing cabanas and also full restrooms and showers with a foot wash. Dogs are not allowed at any of the public beaches in Manatee County.

It is located at 1506 Gulf Drive South ( next to Coquina Beach). Go down the street slowly until you see a proper parking spot in the roadside parking area. The beach is open from 7 a. m. to 10 p. m. and there is no admission fee. The beach features powdery white sand, very soft and great for walking. The Gulf waters are clear, strikingly blue, warm and calm compared to the Atlantic Ocean. With such gorgeous sand and spectacular water, Cortez Beach feels very much like the Caribbean! There are no lifeguards on site, so please exercise caution in the water.
