A great day trip to the Island of Cozumel. To get there, take a taxi or transportation to the Cozumel Ferry area of Playa Del Carmen (about 25 minutes away), hop on a reasonable high speed ferry to Cozumel (35 minutes), and enjoy the Island. Grab a taxi when you arrive and tell them where you want to go!

Cenote Cristalino is only about 5 minutes south of the community and a reasonable entrance fee. Very refreshing 78 degrees year round. Crystal clear waters. Great to spend an afternoon in an amazing natural pool. There is also Cenote Azul next door to this one and others within a few minutes. All are amazing and an experience.

Utilize the many happy hours in town, and local favorites
There are several happy hours in town with 2 for 1 drinks. Great way for great drinks at half price. Also the local favorites eateries, have some good deals as well. To eat cheap and like a local Mexican, can explore the town across the highway where the local Mexican workers live. Can get street tacos for un 20 pesos and delicious!!

Pack sunscreen, mosquito spray, water shoes......
Of course in a beach area and sunny days, make sure to bring sunscreen as can be expensive here. It is recommended to protect the reefs that you use reef safe sunscreen. Also, being in a tropical environment, means there will be mosquitos outdoors (night, early morning, in the shade), so pack some that works for you. Water shoes are good to bring or can buy here, as if you go snorkeling from the beach or access part of the Caribbean where it is rocky, its nice to have those on.
