JINYA Ramen Bar’s sleek, sophisticated atmosphere stops just shy of “dress to impress. Their milky-white, porky tonkotsu broth seems to take over every taste bud with its goodness and noodles are the perfect firmness every time. An order of gyoza, pan-seared until a deep amber crust forms, is a splendid starter and an order of green tea mochi is a fine conclusion. JINYA is open late: to 11 p.m. on the weekdays and 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

his OG Midtown spot is as satisfying now as it was when it opened its doors in the '80s. They still serve their cafe sua da iced Vietnamese coffee with the traditional metal filters. And they still keep their prices low. Where other places are serving bowls that are upwards of $10, a small bowl of pho at Pho Saigon can still be had for the excellent price of just $6.50. Authentic and affordable? Now that's winning.

The interior is spacious and the atmosphere laid-back (relatively speaking, at least) at this Midtown wine bar. You're not going to find enough food-wise at 13 Celsius to fill up if you're starving, but you can avail yourself of small cheese and meat plates to complement whatever vintage you choose. There's also an espresso bar if you want coffee. The bar itself is marble and very long, and there's additional seating on the patio.
