Food scene

my favorite Louisiana restaurant . . . great food at reasonable prices. It's 1.5 miles from my house, through the LSU campus (note that traffic can be heavy during peak times like 3pm - 7pm.)

Sightseeing

Here's where the LSU tigers play; just a 1.3 mile walk from the house. After heading toward campus from the neighborhood (leaving Delgado Drive and turning right onto Highland Road), I typically turn right on LSU Avenue then left on Oxford. This keeps me on a less busy roadway through a nice neighborhood.

great nearby park to relax on the southern end of the LSU Lake. Many people start their walks or runs around the lakes from this point.

For a long bike ride, run, or half-day walk, consider going through the LSU campus to get to the Mississippi River levee. From there you can bike/run/walk on top of the levee to downtown Baton Rouge, about 3 miles north on the levee. Neighborhoods

This is the neighborhood you are staying in. It is a dead-end neighborhood only reachable by Delgado Drive from Highland Road. However, there is a walkway that connects Newcomb to Carriage Way; this is a handy shortcut to the Neighborhood Walmart (via "The Hub" apartments parking areas).
