Tubby's Tank House (Thunderbolt Location) is approximately 4 minutes and .9 miles from Marina Cottage. I LOVE THIS PLACE. It has great food, great service, and great fun. The climate is so great here that we eat on Tubby's wonderful outdoor patio all year; in the winter, they have heaters at each table, so if you do get chilly the staff will turn on the heat for you. I love eating on the patio year round, but the inside seating is awesome as well.

Sightseeing
Tybee Island is approximately 15 minutes (11 miles) from Marina Cottage. Seasoned travelers to this area will know that being able to stay in Thunderbolt and then drive to Tybee is the way to go. Doing so allows one to get all the benefits of the Tybee Island (and Tybee Beach) while still residing in Thunderbolt and experiencing its peace, quite, and community.
I offer go to Tybee -- just hop in the car and drive to eat, wak on the beach, attend an activity and just enjoy all it has to offer. When visiting Tybee Island I enjoy the following: the beaches, the pier and pavilion, Fort Screven, the lighthouse (it's still functioning!).
If you are really interest in the island's history, I'd suggest going to the museum (in Battery Garland).
