It is located on Charalambou Liandri Street. "Ta souvlaki of Gaganis" is a restaurant which is located in a small square of the village next to the church of Panagia. It offers delicious souvlaki, nice salads and various other traditional dishes. The downside is that the service is sometimes slow! Tavern "Ο kompos" ( ο κόμπος). It is located in Violi haraki, leaving Atsipopoulo for Rethymnon. In the village of Argyroupoli - To the springs of Argyroupoli (It is right after the previous village) Taverna "Kastro" .It is located in the springs of Argiroupolis , just before the village.It's a nice area lots of greenery , coolnessand plently of running water wich is worth visiting. This tavern has very good ofto or antikristo meat . The southern beaches of the island have very nice and clean waters worth bathing there! One of this beaches is called Ligres.Right above the beach there is very nice tavern where you can eat fresh fish. But beware! Before you start you have to make sure that it does not blow! Platanias Rethymnon Tavern of “Zisis”(Greek cuisine of everyday life). You can enter the interior, and after seeing, choose your dishes! Episkopi beach area “Gold starfish” (“ χρυσός αστερίας”) Tavern , beach bar with beautiful sunset (good and affordable food and drink) In the city of Rethymnon For souvlaki: 1) "gourounakia"(pigs) ,Street "Psyhounatki Stilianou and Kourmouli" 2) “Bar B.Q” ( in the old town street "Salaminos 12" In the old town on Ethnikis Antistaseos street ( you can not drive by car) you can find small taverns(in Platanos area) with very good raki and meze.
