An excellent seaside restaurant just 500metres away from the residence. An amazing spot and a gastronomic experience. Updated wine list as well. My favorite ones zucchini salad, Fava beans puree and taramosalata.

This is a hidden tavern which has the best ribs you have ever eat.......It is a bit difficult to find it but if you have a car and a gps........you must go!!!!

If you go to Marathi you should eat at this tavern..

Sougia is a relaxing village and the paradise for campers!!You may camp under the trees. There are many taverns, coffee shops, mini market and has night life. If you stay there go for drink.....

To get to Frangokastello from Chania, you need to drive up to Askyfou Plateau and then descend to Chora Sfakion, driving alongside the imposing sheer cliffs of the Imbros Gorge. Soon you will see the endless blue of the Libyan Sea stretching out before you.
The journey is approximately 1.5 hours’ drive from Chania. I recommend the orthi ammos beach !!

Frangokastello Beach
To get to Frangokastello from Chania, you need to drive up to Askyfou Plateau and then descend to Chora Sfakion, driving alongside the imposing sheer cliffs of the Imbros Gorge. Soon you will see the endless blue of the Libyan Sea stretching out before you.
The journey is approximately 1.5 hours’ drive from Chania. I recommend the orthi ammos beach !!
The beach of Plakias extends east from the village. It is one of the biggest beaches in Crete, offering a sense of space and comfort to suit every taste - the east end is mainly used by naturists. There are showers all along the beach and many parking spaces.There are other lovely beaches near Plakias at Damnoni, Amoudi and Mikro Amoudi, which is also a naturists' beach. A little further away are Lefkogia and Schinaria, the preferred beach of scuba divers. The beach of Preveli is also excellent.
For those of you, who enjoy scubadiving, there is a diving centre at the Hotel Calypso near Plakias

Marathi is a beach near to Chania about 16km from Chania. A crystal clear sea and two waveless beaches. Both beaches are sandy and well organized with sunbeds & umbrellas. Enjoy the sea and the beach and when you get hungry try the Cretan cuisine in one of the taverns beside the beach.
A well hidden beach. If you want to have a nice picture with less then 20 people and find a nice spot on the beach, be there before 10 a.m. the majority of people start arriving around 11-12am. Good shoes are really reccommended. It is not reccommended for people Who be afraid of height. NOT flip flop sandals or similar.Bring water and snacks! (there is a guy at the parking lot selling from his car, but I don´t know the prices.

Sightseeing
Chania Venetian Harbour with its lighthouse is the No1 sightseeing at Chania city. My suggestion is not only stroll on the waterfront but also try to find the small streets that sometimes are hidden from eyes.

It is well worth walking all the way to the end of it as you get splendid views from the harbour!

One of my favorite walks in a non known part of Chania. The atmosphere of Tabakaria is opposite to the vivid streets downtown. There are no Venetian buildings, no Cretan Renaissance, no fancy boutiques. This is a forgotten snapshot of Greece, worth knowing because of the history, the landscape, and its unicity.

Loutro is a peaceful village 71 km south of Chania. Loutro evokes some great emotion- unique combination of steep , harsh , rock mountainsides, decorated with clinking of goat bells.
