1 mile west on 32nd is a 60 acre lake with a nature preserve and beautiful views of the Front Range (Eastern face of the Rocky Mountains). We love walking around Crown Hill - I always imagine I'm Laura Ingalls crossing the plains and just seeing the mountains for the first time when I'm walking around Crown Hill!

Chalk creek flows through the property and as long as the run-off is not too bad, you can sit in the hot springs that flow directly into the river. If the run-off is too high, don't worry, the have many other outdoor pools. We've been in the winter and the pools are warm enough. The town of Salida is 20-25 minutes away and worth a visit if you've already gone this far!
