Northside Haunts and Stops
A few great places within walking distance of my apartment to enjoy food, groceries, bars, or nature walks/hikes. Every place I have been and would go to again, so consider this my top take on Northside amenities.
Great source for produce, meats, eggs, prepared goods and dry goods. If you're here for more than a week, this is a great place to pick up groceries that is within walking distance (10-15min). http://www.northsidefm.org/

Locally owned pharmacy 5 min walk for quick needs like Tylenol, IB Profin, or other items.

Veggie and meat pizzas that are HUGE and New York style (aka fold-able). I typically order for pick-up, and I also hear their wings are amazing!

Super tasty vegan restaurant that also serves brunch on the weekends. They are on the pricer side for Northside, but definitely worth a visit!

The best coffee in Northside, and really friendly staff. They have a VERY small seating area though, but a cute outdoor patio area, so if you go there to work, go early, or plan to sit outside. They also have a few baked goods.

Amazing Senegalese food, but it's slow and busy especially on weekends, so don't come starving and be prepared to wait. But the food and flavors are well worth it!

This is a good little store if you need raw shea, or Arab/ME/North African products (both dry goods and beauty).

I've gone here a few times for 30-60 minute hikes. It's a bit rugged once you get into the woods, but it's a great break from the world if you're feeling the need to reconnect with nature.
