YUM. GO NOW. The smell of waffle cones baking drifts a few blocks, and it gets me every time. There is usually a wait, but pro tip: if you want the ice cream but need to skip the line, there's a second entrance that leads right to pre-packaged pints, which you can buy without waiting in line. Some incredible flavors: sea salt and caramel (a more traditional 'ice creamy' flavor), honey lavender (tastes like perfume in the best way possible), pear and blue cheese, strawberry balsamic...and there are always non-dairy items.

This is an incredible garden - come once the rhodedenrons are in bloom (spring and summer). It is picturesque - you will take a walk through gravel trails, over footbridges, around ponds, through grassy areas, surrounded by beatiful trees and rhodedendron blooms. Many people get married here or take special photos at the site. A lovely way to spend some time Bring an umbrella if it's raining - covered areas are few and far between, but even on a rainy day it's magical. Say hi to the geese and ducks!

McMenamin's is a Portland staple - they have bars and restaurants littered around town, and feature their own beers and wine. One of their best is the Bagdad theater, where you can grab a drink and a meal and and catch a movie. What a fun way to spend a drizzly day.

People always say property values spike when a New Seasons shows up! A grocery store with more of a delicatessen bend, and an emphasis on organic and locally-sourced food.
