Take the cable car to the Feuerkogel (475 - 1.585 m)
The cable car is 15 minutes by foot, or less then 5 minutes by car from the place. On top you can enjoy the view over the entire Salzkammergut and take hikes in the summer or ski in the winter.
Walks on the Offensee and the Langbathsee
The Offensee is located at the foot of the Dead Mountains and is a nature reserve. A well-laid hiking trail leads around the lake, which, together with the beautiful winter landscape and mountain scenery, is a recommended destination. The two lakes Front- and Rear Langbathsee are also beautifully situated alpine lakes. Both lakes are nature reserves and can be recommended for a visit (hike on the right bank - left side for cross-country skiers). Since there is no public bus connection to these side valleys, you can only reach them with your own car or taxi.
Ice skating on the near lakes in winter
When the Front lake Langbathsee and the Offensee lake are frozen over (possibly from mid-January to mid-February), nothing stands in the way of your ice skating fun. If the ice conditions are good and free of snow, you can whiz along almost the entire surface of the lake. But be careful: entering the ice rink is entirely at your own risk. If the outside temperature is too warm, you can switch to the artificial ice rink in Gmunden.
Sleigh ride with Huskys
Bernd and Christa Spiessberger can be found with their dogs on the meadow at the wintry Lake Offensee and they also offer guests various offers if they register in advance: Husky adventure day, husky hike, husky sleigh ride and husky skijoring. The experience in the midst of the wonderful nature is something very special. WWW.HUSKYTRAUM.AT
Winter hike to the rindbach-waterfall
On winter days you can also take a walk along the Rindbach to the Rindbach waterfall in Ebensee (walking time approx. 45 minutes from the car park at the Rindbach leisure center) Especially in frosty temperatures there are beautiful ice formations to be seen.
