“The scale and beauty of Stowe have attracted visitors for over 300 years. Picture-perfect views, winding paths, lakeside walks and temples create a timeless landscape, reflecting the changing seasons. Full of hidden meaning, the gardens were created as an earthly paradise and still cast their spell today.”

“Developed in the 1970’s the National Bowl in Milton Keynes is a world renowned music venue and event arena that has hosted some of the worlds biggest music acts. Recently bought by Pete Winkelman to develop as a football training and music venue and looking forward to many more live bands! The construction of the Bowl began in 1971 when surplus soil from the road building for the development of the City of Milton Keynes was piled on the site of a redundant brick works. In 1973 following some inspirational thinking the spoil was formed into a horse-shoe shaped arena on the same lines as the world famous Hollywood Bowl and on Saturday 8th September 1979 the National Bowl, hosted Desmond Decker and Geno Washington. Since then the National Bowl has gained an international reputation, hosting a galaxy of world class entertainers including: 1980 POLICE with Squeeze, UB40, Skatfish, Sector 27, Sat 26th July 1981 THIN LIZZY with Judie Tzuke, The Ian Hunter Band, Q Tips, Trimmer and Jenkins,Sat 8th August 1982 QUEEN, with Heart, Teardrop Explodes, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Sat 5th June GENESIS, with Talk Talk, The Blues Band, John Martyn, Sat 2nd October 1983 DAVID BOWIE, with The Beat and Icehouse Fri 1st, Sat 2nd, Sun 3rd July 1984 STATUS QUO with Marillion, Nazareth, Gary Glitter, Jason and the Scorchers, Sat 21st July 1985 U2 with REM, The Ramones, Billy Bragg, Spear Of Destiny, The Men They Couldn’t Hang, Faith Brothers, Sat 22nd June 1986 SIMPLE MINDS with The Bangles, The Cult, Lloyd Cole and The Commotions, Big Audio Dynamite, The Waterboys, In Tua Nua, Dr and The Medics, Sat 21st June MARILLION with special guests, Gary Moore, Jethro Tull, Magnum, Mamas Boys, Sat 28th June 1988 Amnesty International event with Stranglers, Aswad, The Damned, Howard Jones, Joe Strummer, Aztec Camera, B.A.D, Sat 18th, Sun 19th June MICHAEL JACKSON, with Kim Wilde, Sat 10th September 1989 BON JOVI with Europe, Vixen and Skid Row, Sat 19th August 1990 DAVID BOWIE, with Gene Loves Jezebel, The Men They Couldn’t Hang, Two Way Street, Sat 4th, Sun 5th August ERASURE, with Adamski, Sat 1st September 1991 ZZ TOP with Bryan Adams, Liitle Angels, The Firm, Thunder Sat 6th July SIMPLE MINDS, with Stranglers, OMD Sat 21st August 1993 BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, Sat 23rd May GUNS 'n’ ROSES, The Cult, Soul Asylum, Sat 29th, Sun 30th May METALLICA with Megadeth, Diamond Head, The Almighty, Sat 5th June BON JOVI with Manic Street Preachers, Billy Idol, Little Angels, Sat 18th, Sun 19th September 1994 UB40 with Jamiroquai, Sat 13th August 1995 REM with Blur, Belly and Magnapop Sat 29th July; with Radiohead, Cranberries and Sleeper Sunday 30th July 1996 BON JOVI, Joan Osborne, Gun, Seven, Sat 6th, Sun 7th July 1998 OZZFEST with Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Foo Fighters, Therapy?, Pantera, Sat 20th June 1999 MET ALLICA, with Terrorvision, Placebo, Marilyn Manson, Sat 10th July 2001 OZZFEST, with Black Sabbath, Slipknot, Tool, Papa Roach, Sat 26 May AC/DC with The Offspring, Queens Of The Stone Age and Megadeth Fri 8th June BON JOVI with Matchbox Twenty, Delirious? “The Blue Lagoon is the only Local Nature Reserve in Milton Keynes. The diverse habitat, including shallow and deep water, grassland, scrubland and woodland, has abundance of fauna and flora. Also a recreational facility it's on the site of a former brickworks whose manufacture was a major industry in Bletchley when they first opened in the 1890s. The nature reserve contains two pits: The Water Eaton pit was flooded in the 1940s when the adjoining brook burst its banks. The pure blue colour gave the lake its official name. The Flettons pit was used in brick manufacture until 1970.”
