Charming home in historic Clifton Gaslight district. Close to Clifton entertainment area. Downtown Cincinnati access by public transportation or public bikes. Near University and Children's Hospital Research Centers, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens, and the U.S. EPA Research Center. One cat lives here. "Avi" is a fat white indoor/outdoor cat. He is not allowed on the 3rd floor in order to keep our newish carpet free of cat allergens.

المسكن
Third floor bedroom in a historic home (1911). The bath & water closet (separate rooms) are on the second floor and are shared with the one other guest room. The stairs from the 3rd to 2nd floor are well-lit and shower scheduling is never a problem. We help facilitate to ensure no conflicts. Comfy robes are provided.

إمكانية وصول الضيف
Guests have access to all rooms except other bedrooms. Kitchen may be used, but please clean up after yourself. Second floor family room (aka the Morning Room) for relaxing, TV and fresh coffee. Streaming internet shows. WiFi internet. Front porch & rear gardens nicely landscaped and amazingly private.

Cincinnati contains more interesting events and history than most outsiders can imagine. Mark Twain is reported to have said "When the world ends I want to be in Cincinnati because everything happens 10 years later there." He definitely wasn't talking about today's Cincinnati. Within 5 miles of Buddy's BnB there are more theaters, music venues, outdoor festivals, parks, museums, restaurants and bars than most folks would imagine. There is a historical area called OTR (Over the Rhine) that is midstream into a great revival of commerce and entertainment. The revival also includes preservation of the country's largest number and concentration of historic Italianate buildings. Craft breweries are blossoming everywhere, reviving a great tradition of Cincinnati's past. Findlay Market is the oldest standing structure (in the U.S.) built to house an open air food market. Today it thrives with both farm-fresh food, arts & crafts & a few gourmet cafes, and the ever-present beer garden. Around town there are dozens of other farmer's markets. See the architecturally stupendous Music Hall with recently rebuilt Washington Park, the front yard of Cincinnati where family friendly events occur almost daily from spring to fall. See the Art Deco Union Terminal with its famous mosaics, visit historic Fountain Square and the newest stadium of the Cincinnati Reds, the Reds Baseball Hall of Fame, the Underground Railroad Museum (Cincinnati was a hotbed of covert transport of slaves from South to North), Ohio River front parks, and bicycle a jumble of city bicycle trails.

Most recently, our long awaited downtown streetcar began running a 4 mile loop around greater downtown, stopping at all the best attractions of the heart of the city. For $2 you can hop on & off all day and see it all! Stop #11 is at the front door of Rhinegeist Brewery, where there is a gigantic tasting room with views of the tanks & other Brewery activities. No food service is provided, but Adriatico's Pizza (NY style) delivers almost non-stop. Rhinegeist recently added a rooftop bar that has a glorious perspective on the City. There are several other breweries/restaurants on the streetcar line including Taft's Alehouse & Christian Moerlein Alehouse (river front dining). Off the streetcar line we can point you at another half dozen craft breweries around town. Besides breweries & other well-known local events, ask about local wine shops, off-beat art galleries, quiet dining, major gathering spots, live music venues, quiet hiking spots, the latest hot spots & treasures that only the locals know.

Clifton وسينسيناتي وأوهايو

Clifton is a village just 4 miles up the hill from downtown Cincinnati with the tagline "Historic, Walkable, Eclectic." It was one of the first places that successful immigrants built showplace homes when they could afford to move out of the multi-family dwellings of early Cincinnati. Today it is a showcase of architecture ranging from Turn of the Century Estate homes (castles) to Victorian & Queen Anne mansions, to "modest" brick Four Square and Craftsman homes, and simple framed homes such as ours. Clifton is home to an eclectic mix of people from lawyers, bankers, doctors and professors, to scientists, engineers, artists, musical and theatrical performers, graduate students, undergraduate students, children of all ages, and a variety of colorful characters known to all. The residents may work and research at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Children's Medical Center, the U.S. EPA Research Center and other medical or environmental research centers. Local restaurants, an historic movie theatre (now 5 intimate venues) and shopping are just a short 4 block walk. From Buddy's BnB you can also walk to parks and the world-famous Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens.

Cincinnati has a rich history of fine arts, science & technology, and is home to the 1st professional baseball team (Cincinnati Reds), the 2nd oldest Zoo in the U.S. and the first University to introduce the co-op system of education. We now have a professional soccer team, the FCC, which plays at the UC football field within walking distance. Opened in 1875, the Cincinnati Zoo & Biological Gardens are in walking distance of our house. In the morning you can hear the gibbons humorously whooping for their breakfast.

Both Mary Rita and I love to meet new people. The front porch is our favorite place to be on any pleasant evening, chatting with friends and strangers as they walk by. We enjoy sharing details about the amenities and history of our local village of Clifton and about the wonderful City of Cincinnati.
