Shamba Barn is a beautifully renovated old Cotswold stone apple barn. It's nestled in an acre of lovely landscaped gardens belonging to Bond End Farm; a Grade II listed 400-year-old Timber Frame house where it's rumoured Henry VIII once stayed!

Escape for a peaceful break - exploring the Cotswolds and enjoying the beautiful garden with visiting deer and pheasants, orchard and tree swing, and cosy indoor fire-side evenings or beautiful sunsets on your private patio with a warming fire pit.

المسكن
Shamba Barn has been lovingly restored (retaining many original features) from an abandoned old barn to provide a delightful one kingsize bedroom holiday cottage; fitted and furnished to a luxury standard. It is a wonderful space created with the ethos of providing a place for rest, restoration, adventure, fun and games, good conversation, creative inspiration and simply enjoying your companion’s company.

It combines old character features with modern conveniences: full central heating, lovely roll top bath, separate shower, wood burner, fully equipped kitchen with wine fridge, dishwasher etc. Please see the Guest Access section for full details.

Shamba Barn is perfect for all seasons, with the gardens bursting with a large variety of plants and bird-life, often visited by deer, pheasant and rabbits. The large private patio, equipped with fire pit, is fragranced by scented roses in the summer and is a warm sun-trap, perfect for watching colourful sunsets.

In winter, light the fire and settle in for games, quiet reading or relaxing in the roll top bath enjoying Neal's Yard Remedies Organic natural luxury products.

Upton St Leonards وGloucestershire والمملكة المتحدة

Shamba Barn is perfectly located to enjoy both rural and urban delights. The Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the buzz, shopping and festivals of the cities of Gloucester and Cheltenham are all within easy reach.

The village has a Post Office and general store for essentials, plus the Portland Farm Shop, just a stroll across the fields, provides delicious local meat and produce.

There is a plethora of options for outdoor enthusiasts:

- WALKERS can enjoy a variety of beautiful paths straight from the Barn or even ramble the Cotswold Way to Painswick, 'Queen of the Cotswolds' and famed for its Churchyard of 99 Yew Trees (legend has it that the 100th won't grow). Feel free to take Bond End Farm's dog to direct you and stop for refreshments in the pub along the way. Stroll across the fields to Prinknash Abbey with its Bird and Deer Park and Pottery, the local Taena Pottery, Painswick Rococo Gardens or climb Painswick Beacon for spectacular views down the River Severn Estuary on a clear day.

- CYCLISTS can tackle the tracks through the Cotswold Commons and Beechwoods National Nature Reserve (stopping at our local farm shop on the way home to stock up on lovely local meat and vegetable produce).

- HORSE RIDERS can enjoy local stables and bridle paths or just simply pat the horses in the fields surrounding our orchard.

- SNOW-LOVERS can learn to ski, snowboard or go tubing on England's longest dry ski slope just a few minutes away.

- CHEESE-ROLLERS can join the world-famous cheese-rolling at Coopers Hill...the outdoor options are endless.

And at the end of, or in place of, all that outdoor activity are some wonderful Cotswold country pubs to enjoy real ales, hearty food and log fires. The Butchers Arms at Sheepscombe or the Black Horse at Cranham are a short drive away.

For the urbanites:

GLOUCESTER is home to the Gloucester Quays Outlet, which has fantastic waterside shopping, antiques centre, restaurants, cinema and frequent food and crafts festivals. Gloucester also offers museums and stunning historic Gloucester Cathedral, which was used as a location in some of the Harry Potter films. For rugby fans, a match at Kingsholm Stadium, the home of Gloucester Rugby, is a must.

CHELTENHAM offers its famous Race Course, 'the jewel in the jump racing's crown' with Cheltenham Festival Race Week and Gold Cup; festivals of Literature, Music, Jazz and Science; the Everyman Theatre; fantastic shopping; restaurants and so much more.

Within 30-60 minutes drive there are plenty more attractions including:
- The magnificent WESTONBIRT ARBORETUM, particularly splendid in Autumn when its world-famous Japanese Maples are at their finest
- TETBURY, a beautiful old Wool Market town world famous for its antiques shops to peruse and home to Prince Charles' country house, Highgrove. A visit to the Highgrove Gardens and shop is a treat. Tetbury is also famous for its annual Woolsack Race and you can 'stamp the divots' between chukkas at the Beaufort Polo Club
- Picturesque COTSWOLD VILLAGES including Bourton-on-the-Water or the 'Little Venice of the Cotswolds', The Slaughters, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh and Burford
- CIRENCESTER, the Capital of the Cotswolds, boasts the excellent Corinium Museum and remains of one of the largest Roman Amphitheatre sites in Britain
- The BADMINTON Horse Trials are among the most exciting and challenging on the international equestrian calendar
- COTSWOLD WATER PARK offers fishing, sailing, golf, cable water skiing, hiking, cycling and a 'Blue Flag' swimming beach
- SLIMBRIDGE Wetland Centre nature reserve for fantastic wildlife-watching

Around an hour's drive away is STRATFORD-UPON-AVON, the birthplace of Shakespeare; OXFORD, one of England's best-loved historic cities with its beautiful university and world class museums; BRISTOL, with a multitude of attractions, events and festivals; and BATH SPA, which is simply delightful!

And at the end of all those attractions awaits a peaceful, luxurious Barn set in an acre of beautiful gardens to relax in and reflect on the day's adventures!
