We welcome you to our home which overlooks the ocean and farmland. The guest area is located on the ground floor of our home. Only a 10 minute stroll into the township of Whakatane, and five minute drive to Ohope Beach, voted one of the safest surf beaches in NZ. The entrance to the famous Nga Tapuwai O Toi walking track is only 2 minutes from our home. If you are into astronomy, the Whakatane Observatory is steps away from our property, open to the public Tuesday and Friday evenings.

Sizeable bedroom with a queen sized bed & private bathroom. Living room/games room with a microwave & fridge. Simple continental breakfast provided as well as tea/coffee making facilities. Pool and spa pool to use at your own leisure. There is a book swapping facility and ping pong table.

Whakatane Bay of Plenty نيوزيلندا

Hurinui Ave is high above Whakatane and has wonderful views of the ocean, Mt Putauaki and neighbouring farmland. There is alot of birdlife , cheeky weka often visit as well as pheasant, kereru and tui. You can hear kiwi at night. The area is very safe and home to an Observatory which is open to public two nights a week.

My husband, Tautini and I have stayed in numerous Airbnb homes both here in NZ and overseas. In 2020 when overseas travel was restricted due to Covid we purchased a campervan and have been trying to see as much of NZ as possible. We both work four days a week. Tautini is an Electrician and I am a Probation Officer. We are very active, and water sports is our passion. I am a keen surfer (SUP surfing) and Tautini loves Waka Ama. We also love cycling, and have done a few tracks around NZ, but have a lot more we would like to do. We are active members of the Whakatane Surf Lifesaving Club, volunteering our time every summer as lifeguards.
Hosting Airbnb is new to us but is something we have talked about for quite some time and have decided to give it a go. We purchased our home just over one year ago, and now that all our children have left home we have plenty of space available. We are very social and enjoy meeting people, so are looking forward to our new venture. We know we may not get it right at the beginning, so please don't be afraid to critique us, give us feedback and offer suggestions. At present we offer a private bedroom and bathroom as well as another private lounge type area where continental breakfast and tea/coffee making facilities are located.
