This Cottage is situated in Vila Real at Casa Agricola da Levada, a family owned farmhouse with 6 hectares of wine yard and garden. Six 17th century granite stone houses totally renewed are spread in the terraced garden.

Casa da Varanda is a two bedroom cottage for 4 people with kitchen, living room , garden with table and chairs, barbecue.
The swimming pool of the property is 100 meters away and is shared by other 6 houses.

At the reception of the main house you can ask for information, maps, tips, wine, games, books, DVDs, iron, hairdryer, any kitchen utensils that you cannot find at your cottage.
Free Wifi at reception of main house.

Breakfast can be served also at main house from 8.30 to 10.30 and has: 3 different kinds of bread, homemade jams, cheese, milk, cornflakes, tea, coffee, water and juice and fruit for an additional cost of 6 euro per person.

This country home is just outside the town of Vila Real, up a long, tree-lined avenue that shields it from the road.

This is lovely spot for those who wish to combine the quiet of country life with easy access to the town and Region. Just 3 Km from Casa de Mateus, 15 min driving from the heart of the Douro Valley and River, 8 km from Alvão Natural Park with its beautiful granite stone pools and waterfall.

VERY IMPORTANT: Car is necessary! public transport exists but for working schedule and for schools.

I started restoring our family property in Vila Real in the year 2000 and in 2010 had already 7 cottages ready for my guests. I love to restore old buildings and give them life. That's why it's so nice to have guests and children playing and to look at the cottages and see smoke coming out from the chimneys or the table set outside for a nice meal. I became so addicted to this transformation - from old ruins to nice and comfortable apartments- that in 2008 i bought a flat in Lisbon to restore and rent to visitors. I wish I could go on and on buying, restoring and renting.
Apart from this “hobby” that became my job, I also love to travel and get new ideas for my guests.
My father is a wine producer in the Douro Valley and I always try to find time to share a bottle and knowledge about Portuguese wines with my guests. So, this is it, my 2 passions in life: the farm and the winery and of course my 2 girls, the odest is 16 and a one year old baby.
