All units are blended with handcrafted rattan interiors made by the locals. The venture boasts by concord venue and a breathtaking panoramic view of Isla Verde Passage.

The Neighborhood

The host consider as Casa Sofia “like a breath of fresh air”. As it is nestle in a pure nature environment. You can enjoy beautiful sunrises or sunsets with panoramic view to the calm sea with fishing boats or divers around.

What activities we offer;

Snorkeling

You are definitely free to do anytime with your own safety as we do not have lifeguards. There are countless fishes, corals and even a Second World War shipwreck to be discovered nearest us.

Kayaking

Explore the coastal area of Sinandigan by canoe on your own. With your life vest on, it is a chance to see plenty of God given nature. Discover such Mangrove area in the cove, beautiful pieces of rocks, cliffs and lots of tropical species on. We have 2 kayaks available for 300 pesos per hour.

Beach/Island Hopping for 2,000 php

Our small diesel engine banca has at least 12 pax capacity. Our staff will accompany you on the trip to discover the island and enjoy its beautiful scenery with its pristine forests, coves and countless beaches around Puerto Galera

Barbecue on the Banca at Sunset

Staffs will organize (shrimp, squid and or chicken) for grill. Boating trip starts around 5 PM to catch the picturesque sunset bringing the day to a close while barbecuing and a glass of wine or beer and enjoy the unique sunset.

Diving
Take a dive into the underwater world. Puerto Galera has 85 and more diving sites to dive. Just in front of Casa Sofia, 3 diving sites found.
We can recommend a diving center near by.

My name is Norbert. I am a German (originally from Emmerich) living in Zurich, Switzerland. I am teacher and lecturer for economics in Business School, Zurich. I came to Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines, first time in 1986. In this time I made my first experiences in scuba diving. And I was deep impressed about the beautiful nature around Puerto Galera. I learnt to love the tropics. And I like the mentality of the Filipinos. They are friendly, uncomplicated and cordially. I went back to Puerto Galera every year and I found my second home in Sinandigan (Brgy of Puerto Galera). In that Brgy I bought a beautiful place direct to the sea. Since 1999 I extended the mentioned place to Casa Sofia, a small Resort with an impressive and magnificent view to the sea.
My wife is a registered Nurse and from Davao. We are managing this resort together with our staffs.

We also offer for FREE our car service for pick up at any Puerto Galera pier upon check in only. Other than that car service eg going to Sabang, town or White beach on minimal fee.
