Karen’s home is located in Alexandria, Louisiana, United States.
Ours is a quiet, diverse neighborhood with a mix of young families, midlife adults, and retirees. My neighbors and I enjoy morning or evening walks, jogs, or biking along the tree-lined streets, and the plentiful gardens are even more beautiful when the azaleas, crape myrtles, or camellias are in bloom!

Developed after World War II, the Alexandria Post-War Suburbs Historic District is noted for its concentration of Ranch, Contemporary, and Wrightian residential architecture, with most homes constructed from 1945 to 1963. It was added to the National Register in 2014.

Adjacent to the historic Alexandria Garden District, the two communities enjoy several joint, seasonal events, including a Holiday Parade of Homes, a Community-Wide Yard Sale, a mini Mardi Gras parade, among others. When you visit, feel free to join our neighborhood running club for one of their weekly runs, or enjoy a meal at one of our popular neighborhood restaurants, serving great Louisiana cuisine and live music, to boot!
