Welcome to the famous Abbeyglen Castle Hotel, located just a few minutes walk from Clifden town, known for its music, warm welcome and fine dining. We are excited to list our Economy rooms on AirBnB. As a guest of the hotel a full breakfast is included, access to all the facilities and complimentary bubbles and cheese with a talk about the hotel and the area in our bar at 6.30pm. Our restaurant is currently closed for dinner on Mondays and Tuesdays. A short bar food menu will be available

The Abbeyglen Castle hotel is set on a beautiful hillside overlooking Clifden Bay. Just 5 minutes walk from Clifden town centre it has pride of place at the beginning of the famous Sky Road, a stunning scenic drive, cycle or walk in Connemara.

To the front of the building we have beautiful gardens to peruse or get in a game of tennis on our hard court.

Inside Abbeyglen Castle Hotel, we have a quiet drawing room, lobby and reception area, piano bar, snooker table, table tennis, fine dining restaurant and TV/Bar area.

Don't forget to say hello to our famous African Grey Parrot, Froda! You'll find her in reception waiting to greet you when you arrive.

We are located 5 minutes walk from Clifden town, the capital town in Connemara. The Sky Road is one of the most famous scenic drives in Ireland. Clifden town is a busy town full of shops, pubs and restaurants and frequented regularly by hundred of thousands of visitors each year.

The Abbeyglen Castle Hotel is located close to Connemara’s major attractions, including Kylemore Abbey, The Connemara National Park, the local museum and the first Trans-Atlantic wireless station and landing site. The renowned Connemara Golf Links is close by, overlooking the rugged Atlantic Coast.

Reception is open from 7am to 11pm and the Piano Bar typically continues until 12.30 or later depending on demand. We give a talk on the hotel and the history of the area every evening at 6.30pm with complimentary bubbles, cheese and crackers. Social distancing is maintained at all times with floor markings. There are also lots of hand sanitising stations around the hotel and a temperature check is at reception when you arrive to the hotel.
