This online experience will take you to the places in Japan which are said to be the inspirations of seven Ghibli films.
It's about 1-hour experience via Zoom and operated in the hope of expanding the wishlist places of your next visit to Japan(in the near future, we hope!).

Let's explore Ghibli-related places throughout Japan without leaving your home! Starting from Tokyo where the animations are being created, we will explore many places which are said to be inspirations of some of the scenes of the films such as the forest of My neighbor Totoro, a bathhouse where Chihiro worked at(Spirited Away), the enchanted forest(Princess Mononke), etc..
We will explore virtually from the north(Hokkaido) to the south (Kagoshima) of Japan.
Discover the richness of the nature of Japan while answering some quizzes with other Ghibli fans.
After the tour, we will share a list of places we covered including the map of Ghibli-themed cafes and restaurants for your future trip to Japan.

Hello from Tokyo! I'm Yosshi, a local guide in and around Tokyo area, who grew up with Ghibli films(I did princess-Mononoke for Halloween when I was little) like a lot of Japanese did.
As a grownup, I'm still deeply obsessed with Ghibli and thought that doing an online tour might be a good chance to show people around the world that there are so many beautiful places and small islands in Japan other than Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and other famous cities.

I booked this experience for my boyfriend, as he is a big fan. Then I decided to join as well. Although I've only seen 1 film, I really enjoyed this! Yosshi was engaging, friendly, professional and passionate about her subject. I saw so many interesting things, that I now really want to visit Japan! A great way to spend an hour.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. We were smiling the whole time! Yosshi put together a lot of fun information that reminded us of the magic of Ghibli films and helped us connect the movies we love with real life places! Since we can't travel right now, it was especially lovely to experience another part of the world. The experience had a great variety of pictures, videos and other elements! Amazing experience, I was supposed to go to Japan in 2020 but something else came up(Covid-19) and I no longer know when I can get back there. This was a pleasant surprise as I wasn't really sure what to expect. This experience showed maybe parts of Japan I would have missed if I went to Japan without first doing this experience. We explored many of the islands that I had not planned on visiting, of course, after this, I think I will have to double the length of my trip. Thanks for all the information you gave and answering all our questions.
