Most people want to visit Cleveland, but don't know where to begin. I am here to change that: I will show you three completely different faces of Cleveland, in three different neighborhoods. We will meet in Ohio City, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Cleveland. We will start our tour walking through the West Side Market, and Market Square area. As we walk, you will see six different murals! You will have the opportunity to take lots of pictures (including one of you eating an ice cream, right in front of a mural on the side of Mason's Creamery). Next, we will walk to Hingetown, a community rich with LGBTQ history and mom and pop shops. While you learn about the history of this artsy neighborhood, you will see 5 different murals commissioned from international artists such as Brazillian artist Ananda Nahu. You will have an opportunity to stop in some of the shops and taste some of the great food in the area as well. Lastly, we will walk to the Gordon Square Arts District area and see some very adorable cartoon murals, as well as some more contemporary, geometric ones. This district has teamed up with LAND studio to install a series of 8 new murals. This up-and-coming neighborhood has art galleries, theaters, and great food, so the murals are just a bonus!
We can take the train or bus for those who cannot walk very far.
Yes, I will be your photographer if you want!
Hi there! My name is Nurahn. I've spent 5 years in Cleveland, and in my time here I've been a radio host, as well as the General Manager of a local radio station. During that time, I commisioned a mural. Through this, I also learned a lot about Cleveland's growing street art scene. I've worked with local artists, as well as national ones, and one of my favorite things to do is show people my favorite murals around Cleveland. I'm excited to show you the neighborhood that I am proud to call home, and some hard-to-find but REALLY cool murals and street art!
We will be touring Ohio City and the West Side Market, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Cleveland. We will see several mural projects that have brought a lot of vibrant art to the area in the last few years. We will then walk to Hingetown, an artsy and very LGBTQ-friendly neighborhood. Then we will finish our walking tour in Gordon Square, where we will look at more murals and see some up and coming art galleries and restaurants.
