Enjoy sunsets from your room! Arthurstown is a quaint village on the west side of the Hook Peninsula and is the perfect base from which to explore it. Hook Head & lighthouse are 20 mins by car, on route to which you'll pass through scenic Duncannon with it's 1 mile beach and pass numerous other beautiful beaches and scenery. There is so much to see and do on "The Hook" you will be spoilt for choice of beaches, scenic walks, gardens, ancient ruins, The Norman Way and a host of other attractions.

Old Schoolhouse (1896), Ballyhack Village
Built in 1896, when the Irish regained their rights to their culture, religion and education. St. Louis nuns would come from Ramsgrange (3.5km) by horse & cart. Teachers, boys, and girls had their own entrances and toilets. Boys were upstairs and girls downstairs. Later it was mixed (according to those in the village who went to school there) The floor upstairs is original. Be sure to look at the great old photos of the Schoolhouse & Ballyhack on the walls of the pub.
