Organic Farm Cooking Class in Ubud - Fully Handson

I'll teach you how to cook a traditional Balinese meal using our organic products. Before we go to the farm, I'll take you around the traditional market (for the morning experience) to see how the locals shop, what they sell and also taste some of our fresh fruit and delicacies. Back at the farm, we'll do a walk along with the farm and talk about the local farming methods. You will see the local vegetation and we will harvest some of the ingredients we are going to use later. After that, we will start cooking 6 local dishes and finally, we'll share the delicious meal together. Of course, you will be able to take the rest of the food, a printed recipe book (and PDF recipe) home. Other things to note - Pick Up in Ubud Meeting point Morning 7.30 am Afternoon 12.30 pm - Bring your desire to learn Balinese cuisine, Your camera to take the great moments and casual outfit.

Traditional Balinese Cooking Class

To start your lovely day with us, we will take you to our traditional market (market tour only for morning class as it is close at 1 PM) where we will walk along and show to you some of our spices & traditional herbs, and the morning traditional market activities (will not buy any products since the ingredients for the cooking are already acquire and prepare). *Pick-up information : if you are in Ubud Central area return free transport is included, but if you are out of Ubud Central area there is surcharge for the return transport, the amount is depend on how far that you are. We will continue our journey to enjoy the fresh air in a rice paddy field at Tengkulak Village. Once you arrive at our home, we will greet you with our traditional Balinese home atmosphere and we will serve you with traditional Balinese cakes, while enjoying our freshly mixed welcome drink. The highlight of the class is the authentic Balinese cooking class that set in a traditional Balinese compound. We do not just teach you how we create delicious Balinese dishes but we also explain to you how we use herbs and spices for Balinese traditional medicine. This class is not demonstration but you will have helpers to assist you. Finally, you will be able to sit down around the table with the other participants to enjoy your own home made traditional Balinese food. Other things to note Vegetarian upon request and please let us know about any food allergies.

Balinese Authentic Food Cooking Class

We will welcome with our traditional welcome drink and Balinese cake. Before you begin to cook, we will make "Canang" which is our daily Balinese offering as an expression of gratitude. We do not just teach you how we create delicious Balinese dishes but we also explain to you how we use herbs and spices for Balinese traditional therapy. Then it"s time to roll up your slaves, put on your Apron and start cooking our traditional Balinese feasts. Firstly we will introduce you with spices and herbs that we will use for cooking . You will learn how to cook Authentic Balinese dishes in our open kitchen and the menu as below: 1. Chicken soup with Balinese yellow spices ( Kuah ares ) 2. Mixed vegetables with Balinese Spices ( Jukut Urab). 3. Grilled Minced Chicken Satay (Sate Lilit Ayam ) 4. Sayur Cantok ( Mixed Vegetables and tempe tofu with peanuts sauce) 5. Grilled Chicken with Sambal matah (Ayam sisit sambel matah) Finally, you will be able to sit down around the table with the other participants and my family to enjoy your own homemade traditional Balinese food. Create Bali Coconut Oil with Local

We will make the real balinese coconut oil in traditional process at our lovely balinese house compound in ubud. First, when we Arrive in my home It will be to enjoy fresh herbal tea or coffee together for welcoming and than we will create your own Coconut Oil. Coconut oil has caused quite a buzz in the natural health community, and for good reason. It offers many health benefits and it has a delicate taste. It's also an extremely versatile oil with a number of uses you may not be aware of. Here we will make real coconut oil following the traditional process (it will take 1 - 2 hours to be done). While we wait for it, we will visit our Balinese traditional house and after that you will get delicious Nasi Goreng (fried rice) and drinks at our place. Once the coconut oil done, you will bring it home after the session end. Balinese cooking class on organic farm

Our tour will begin on the farm with a welcome drink. While relaxing in a shaded part of the farm, we will present our community movement. After enjoying the welcome drink, we will walk along the community farm and learn about organic farming and the unique UNESCO- protected Subak System in Bali. During the farm tour, we will pick the ingredients that we are going to use during the cooking class for a true farm to table cooking experience. Once we arrive at the centre of the community, Mai Organic farm, we will drink a refreshing juice made with vegetables and fruit from our local farms. Following the drink, we will prepare six Balinese dishes, such as tuna sate and corn fritters. Students are able to participate as much or as little as they would like. We keep our class sizes small (max 10 people) to allow guests to be more involved in the cooking process and to provide better attention to each gues. then you will enjoy your meal in a tranquil gubuk (hut) with new friends from the tour. By supporting Mai Organic Farm, you are supporting a community of local farmers from Pejeng. Our movement aims to support the local farmers' and villagers' income while providing them with resources to improve their quality of life. We gona pick you up at 3pm bring you stright to the location where you gona see the processing how to make the most expensive coffee in the world done very detail by hand in a traditional way, then we gona taste the coffees and teas surrounded by pristine lush jungle and a very beautiful rice terrace.
